Application Process & Required Documents

Applications are closed; this section records the official procedure:

  • Candidates created a profile on fpsc.gov.pk, generated a unique PSID, deposited the fee, and submitted the online application before 31 August 2026. Manual applications and hard copies were not accepted.
  • Fee: BS-16 & 17 — Rs. 600; BS-18 — Rs. 1,500; BS-19 — Rs. 2,500; BS-20 and above — Rs. 3,000. Paid online against the PSID through the 1-Link facility. Old TR-6 challans, bank drafts, pay orders and cheques were not accepted.
  • The online application could be edited only once, before the closing date. Serving government servants needed a Departmental Permission Certificate (DPC) and quoted its reference number in the form.
  • Documents were not uploaded with the initial application; CNIC, domicile and educational certificates are verified later, during detailed scrutiny of shortlisted candidates.

Deadline

The closing date was 31 August 2026 — applications and fee payments after this date were not accepted, and the deadline was not extended. If you missed this window, you cannot apply now; the only option is to wait for the next consolidated advertisement on fpsc.gov.pk.

For applicants, attention has shifted to the tests. Per the FPSC notice of 29 September 2026, GR Phase-3 tests run 12–19 October 2026 in 13 cities (Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala, Karachi, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Peshawar, D.I. Khan, Quetta, Gilgit, Skardu), with the CSS 2027 MPT on 10 October 2026. The five Board of Investment / PM Office cases (17 posts) were postponed until further notice. Admission certificates are on the FPSC website with SMS/email intimation — none are sent by post. Report to the hall 45 minutes before the paper; doors close 15 minutes before, with no late entry. Bring your printed slip and original CNIC or passport, use only a black ball pen, and leave your phone at home.

Editor’s Insights & Career Analysis

This is one of those FPSC ads that doesn’t come around every year. Consolidated Advertisement 03/2026 packs 524 vacancies into a single phase — and when the GR Phase-3 screening tests land on 12–19 October 2026, you’re looking at thousands of candidates fighting for seats across just 13 cities. If you applied before the 31 August closing, the real work starts now, not the other way around. FPSC screening is a pure filtration game: clear the MCQ paper or you’re out, no matter how strong your credentials look on paper.

The 0.25 negative marking is the quiet killer in these papers. On a 100-mark BS-16/17 paper, blind guessing on 20 questions you don’t know costs you 5 marks — and that margin is often the difference between shortlisted and rejected in competitive cases like the PIMS Charge Nurse (70 posts) or ICT Police Inspector (23 posts) races. The rule of thumb that actually works: attempt what you can reason through, leave what you’re genuinely clueless about. FPSC’s 40% per-part passing requirement also means you can’t afford to collapse on one section while cruising the other, so keep your preparation balanced instead of cramming only your strong areas.

Practically speaking, download your admission certificate from fpsc.gov.pk the moment it’s up — don’t wait for the SMS or email intimation, because those sometimes arrive late or get swallowed by spam filters. Check your test city, reporting time, and centre a day early, and plan to reach the hall well before the gates close; FPSC is strict about late entry and there are no exceptions. The Board of Investment and PM Office cases being postponed is worth noting too — if those were your targets, keep an eye on the next consolidated ad instead of assuming they’ll quietly reappear in this phase.

  • For SST Male and Inspector-type papers, weight your revision toward the professional/job-related portion — it’s usually where merit lists are decided, while English and general knowledge portions just need a passing grip.
  • Medical Officer candidates: revise clinical basics and Pakistan’s health-system framework rather than deep specialty material — screening tests reward breadth, not depth.
  • Never study from unofficial syllabi floating around on social media. Cross-check everything against the syllabus and test pattern published on fpsc.gov.pk for your specific case number.
  • Carry your original CNIC and admission certificate, plus a spare black/blue ballpoint — small oversights have ended more candidatures than hard questions ever have.

524 posts is a genuinely large opportunity by FPSC standards, and the spread from BS-16 to BS-20 means there’s something here for fresh graduates and senior officers alike. Treat the screening test like the competition it is, respect the negative marking, and walk into that hall prepared instead of hopeful. That’s the whole game.
